Rockets Announce Signing of Pops

HOUSTON, TX -- Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu (MEN-sa BON-sue) to a non-guaranteed one-year contract worth $825,000.

Mensa-Bonsu, 6'9", 235, is more of forward than a center; but, he should battle undersized big man, Joey Dorsey (6'7", 260) for time at the center position.

“Pops will bring shot-blocking, energy and depth to our bigs,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said. “He will fit in well with our focus on up-tempo play.”
