Wafer says 'I Didn't Make Comments'

While Rockets' Nation is consumed with news about the slow to heal hairline fracture in Yao Ming's left foot, news surrounding another Rockets player was creating a bit of a stir.

No, not Ron Artest; but, shooting guard Von Wafer.

Wafer is an unrestricted free agent which means he's free to sign a contract with any NBA team -- including the Rockets.

Earlier this week, I received word Von was "tweeting" his displeasure with the Rockets' drafting two shooting guards (Jermaine Taylor and Chase Budinger) in last Thursday's NBA Draft on "his Twitter" site:

"man why the rockets pick two shooting guards? If they don't want me, I'll go somewhere else"

A few more comments have been added since those were posted last Friday evening.

Since I have heard a few stories about people claiming (pretending) to be athletes or coaches making false comments on Twitter, I contacted Von.

Von told me, "I didn't make any comments."

In fact, Von asked me, "What was said?"

I told him about the twitter site; so, he's looking into it. Von hasn't told me what he's going to do about the site. Hopefully, he'll resolve the situation soon.
